This winter keeps giving beautiful moments. Sunlight is creeping across a crisp and frozen winterscape, clear skies and frosted mountain tops in view. Similar to this morning’s sunrise, “Sunrise, New Year’s Day” is a moment of meditation before you continue on with your Sunday.
But, this winter sunrise in Dorset is a clear and cold New Year’s Day from 2024. Sarah’s mix of cold hues meeting the warm dawn tones, gives a wintery feel that jumps off the brushstrokes. The photo is bit more stark, beautiful but a bit removed, not so inviting as Sarah’s rendtion. Here is the original photo:
This new year’s morning light creates dramatic shade, leaving the foreground in the dark while the sun teases us as it rises. Finally stretching out across the valley, as seen in motion below.
