Celebrate the Winter Olympics by Supporting BOC

Today marks the opening of the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy (yes, as a Winter Olympics nerd, I am watching the Opening Ceremonies live as I type this. Catch it on primetime NBC at 8 PM EST tonight).

To celebrate this year’s Winter Olympics and pay homage to Vermont Olympians of past, present and future, we are running a small art show and fundraiser at Bromley Mountain to support the Bromley Outing Club. Seven prints from this series of 18 are on display at Bromley throughout the Olympic games.

I was fortunate to chase some BOC athletes this winter on their first day of gate training with my drones. The result is a collection of 18 photos highlighting the vibrance and energy of these skiers getting back into the flow of racing gates.

These photos, shot with a drone and long lenses, offer an alternative to the typical up-close race photo that show the athlete without the overall context of their mission racing downhill. The photos draw the viewer in with lines and shapes that explore the racers’ connection with their craft, the snow and gravity. The s-shapes of the course allude to the history behind these athletes while they follow the path to their futures ahead.

All signed and numbered prints are $225.00 with proceeds supporting the non-profit Bromley Outing Club.

Unsigned re-prints are available in a variety of sizes, unframed and framed through Darkroom.com.

And be sure to stop by Bromley this month to check out the 7 prints on view. Open everyday 8:30 AM to Close
